Join two-time Oscar nominee and humanitarian Djimon Hounsou and The Honorable Dr. Sesha Joi Moon, co-founder of The JXN Project, along with community leaders for an exclusive screening of the VPM feature documentary Declarations: Black Americans and the Revolutionary War, directed by Stacey L. Holman, on Sunday, September 13 at 12:00 PM.

A VPM Original Production presented by the Djimon Hounsou Foundation in collaboration with VA250, this special screening is part of Freedom Forward, an initiative that centers the Black experience in the telling of America’s history and creates space for reflection on freedom, belonging, and the unfinished work of building a more inclusive future.

The screening will be followed by a community discussion on belonging and will serve as the closing experience of the three-day Run Richmond 16.19 race weekend. Don’t miss this unique community experience. The theater fits 400 people, and seats are filling up quickly!
